This is a story from one of my Sunday School teachers. His oldest son had some roof damage and needed it fixed, but didn't have the means to get it done. So he asked his father what he should do. After thinking about it his father remembered that he had some shingles left over from a project he did the year before. It was only 9 shingles but it what a start. The next day him and his son got to work on the roof. As they were working they came to find out that all they needed was 9 shingles. It wasn't only the blessing of having enough shingles, but the the blessing of the father to the son of sharing what he had. He could of kept the shingles for himself and had the son buy a new bundle, but he didn't. He shared what he had to help someone in need. As little it may seem, it was a true blessing and taught them a great lesson. God provides what you need when you need it.

Below is the email that I sent out to my class about that story. I hope it helps anyone to understand that God does have blessing in store for you and will provide what you need when you need it.

My Thoughts:

9 Shingles: What we need... When we need it.

After hearing Roger Porters story about helping his son fix his roof and only having 9 shingles, it got me thinking. Was it just by coincidence that only 9 shingles were needed or was Gods hand in it? Maybe it was a coincidence, but maybe it was Gods way of showing Roger that He will provide what he needs, when he needs it. How did Roger know that saving those 9 shingles were going to bless not only his son, but himself too?

In 2 Corinthians 9:8 it says:

And God is able to make all (provide) grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times (having enough of everything), you my abound (share abundantly) in every good work. ESV... I added the (words)

God will Provide Enough of Everything for what we need when we need it, so we can Share it with others. Gods blessing on us are not for us to hide or kept for ourselves, we are to share it with others so we can bless them and to continue to be blessed by God

God PROVIDES ENOUGH of EVERYTHING for us to SHARE!!!!
