A friend of mine growing up asked this question on Facebook...

Help.... So David took down Goliath and Saul got Jealous.

1 Sam 18:10 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul's hand.

Does God dispatch evil spirits?

Here was my answer.

Just food for thought... If you are a true believer in Jesus Christ, and claim to be saved, then you should always be in a state of worship to God in all you do, say, and feel. If we are Christians’ and act like the devil, then why would God want to live in us? So I could understand why He would remove Himself from someone that is saved and let an evil being in. This is not to say that you will not enter the kingdom of Heaven once you die (that's if you were truly saved), you just won’t have the full blessing of God and the full riches of His glory in heaven. God promised us that once saved we will enter the kingdom of heaven. He will not and cannot break His promises, but He can withhold His blessing to those who don't truly follow Him.
Added note (not what I posted)...
This is not to say that God has evil spirits by His side waiting like hounds to be released. It's just once God leaves you and it opens a door for those evil spirits to enter in.

What are your thoughts on this? Am I close or way off?

Walking by what?

As I look at my walk with Christ I see that my life is clashing in where I thought I was walking. I thought I was walking in the Faith of God my Father, but I have been walking on the fence and leaning to the side that fit me the best at the moment. Not seeing that I was falling to the side of flesh. I can see that I am one of those Christians that we see praising God in church on Sundays and Wednesdays and to go back to my life doing as I please once I'm out of the church. I didn't like what God was showing me.

After reading Galatiains 5:16-26 I see my faults. I know that I am only a man, born into a sinful life, but on Oct. 6, 1999, I became a man with the Spirit of God living in me. From that day I should of started my new walk with Him and leaving my fleash behind. But like so many, I have held onto my flesh, only to come up short of the glory of God. While reading I could see myself in many of both "walkings".

(Not saying all of these are me, just what the bible states)
Flesh Walking... Gal. 5:19-21"...sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, nevy, drunkeness, orgies, and things like these..."

Spirit Walking...Gal.5:22-24 "...love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentlness, self-control,..."

I see many of the Flesh and Spirit in my walk with God.
Lord help me to move out of myself and let you move in and take over. I love you Lord, break me, mold me, and use me.

Do my children see me walking in the spirit?

In Deuteronomy 11:19 it says: "You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."

How am I to teach them how to walk in the Spirit when I don't all the time?
How am I to lead my family with a Biblical view if I don't lead my life that way?

I want them to be able to look back and say that their father taught them well and faught a good fight. That I walked close with God during the bad times as well as the good times. I pray that they grow up to be men of God that follow His will and their own or the will of others.

Lord help me to be the father I need to be to my sons. Mold me so that I can mold them. Cover them with your love and protection. Thank you Father.

My Thoughts:
In SS Class we talked about the 10 commandments and how they apply to our lives. Brother Larry said that Psalms 119 was a good picture of the commandments and how we should view them. I started off reading Psalms 119 but stopped at verse 8. This is what I got from verses 1-8. Please feel free to comment, make correction, or give any thoughts.
To me Psalms 119:1-8 shows the beginnings of a new believer. Once we become a Christian, follower of Christ, Christ like, we should strive to follow the commands God has given us.
In Verses 1-3, I see that it talks about one who is a Christian and follows the commands of God; who seeks the will of God everyday; who strives to do no wrong. A new believer wants to what is right and they do what ever God commands them. They want to please God and be blessed.

(Is there anyone who can do no wrong? How have you "tried" to please God?)

In Verses 4-5 I see that is talks about Gods commands. That He has given them and that they are a way of life. A goal. Each command that God has given us is a not just a rule, but a walking path that He laid out for us. Following that path and not straying from it is what He has for us. Blessed are those who do my commandments. Rev. 22:14

(Does your goals reflect Gods will? Does your way of life reflect Gods will? How have you worked toward staying on the path God laid out for us?)

In Verses 6-8 I see that it talks about Learning His commands, Following His commands, and being Blessed. That we should fix our eyes (mind) on the commandments that He has given us. Learn them to a point that they are always at the front of our thinking. All day, everyday, is a step closer to doing the will of God.

(Have you Learned Gods commandment? Are you Following them? When you keep His commands how do you feel?)
10 Commandments are in Exodus 20:1-21.
Words for thought:
ENGLISH                          HEBREW                                    MEANING
Law                                   torah                                     instructions
Testimonies                      'edot                  what God solemnly testifies to be His will
Precepts                         piqqudim                what God has appointed to be done
Statutes                    khuqqim; khuqqot         what the divine Lawgiver has laid down
Commandments              mitswot                             what God has command
Rules                             mishpatim             what the divine Judge has ruled to be right
Word                           'imrah; dabar                       what God has spoken
Steadfast                          stako                              be firm in Gods word

If you have made it his far... Thank you. I am not a scholar by any ways, nor one that truly understands the Bible in it's fullness. But we all have the ability to read the Bible and pray about what we read to get what God wants us to see. If you have any comments, corrections, or thoughts, please feel free to reply. I am still learning and still growing as we should be.

This is a story from one of my Sunday School teachers. His oldest son had some roof damage and needed it fixed, but didn't have the means to get it done. So he asked his father what he should do. After thinking about it his father remembered that he had some shingles left over from a project he did the year before. It was only 9 shingles but it what a start. The next day him and his son got to work on the roof. As they were working they came to find out that all they needed was 9 shingles. It wasn't only the blessing of having enough shingles, but the the blessing of the father to the son of sharing what he had. He could of kept the shingles for himself and had the son buy a new bundle, but he didn't. He shared what he had to help someone in need. As little it may seem, it was a true blessing and taught them a great lesson. God provides what you need when you need it.

Below is the email that I sent out to my class about that story. I hope it helps anyone to understand that God does have blessing in store for you and will provide what you need when you need it.

My Thoughts:

9 Shingles: What we need... When we need it.

After hearing Roger Porters story about helping his son fix his roof and only having 9 shingles, it got me thinking. Was it just by coincidence that only 9 shingles were needed or was Gods hand in it? Maybe it was a coincidence, but maybe it was Gods way of showing Roger that He will provide what he needs, when he needs it. How did Roger know that saving those 9 shingles were going to bless not only his son, but himself too?

In 2 Corinthians 9:8 it says:

And God is able to make all (provide) grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times (having enough of everything), you my abound (share abundantly) in every good work. ESV... I added the (words)

God will Provide Enough of Everything for what we need when we need it, so we can Share it with others. Gods blessing on us are not for us to hide or kept for ourselves, we are to share it with others so we can bless them and to continue to be blessed by God

God PROVIDES ENOUGH of EVERYTHING for us to SHARE!!!!
